{"id":496096,"date":"2016-12-07T11:23:41","date_gmt":"2016-12-07T19:23:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=39147"},"modified":"2023-12-18T21:53:01","modified_gmt":"2023-12-18T21:53:01","slug":"tour-de-paris-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/tour-de-paris-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Tour de Paris 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two weeks ago in Paris, more than 100 historic automobiles gathered in the early morning chill at Polo de Paris in Bois de Boulogne for the Tour de Paris \u2014 a celebratory drive through the center of the <em>Cit\u00e9 des Lumi\u00e8res<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Organized by the <em>F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale des V\u00e9hicules Anciens<\/em> to mark the end of World Motoring Heritage Year 2016, and FIVA\u2019s own 50<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary, the Tour de Paris was arranged by the club Vincennes en Anciennes with the support of FFVE (<em>F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Fran\u00e7aise des V\u00e9hicules d\u2019Epoque<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The drivers and passengers of the historic cars represented more than 35 countries across six continents, with the oldest vehicle taking part being a 1900 De Dion-Bouton driven by 27-year-old Miss Rupali Prakash (above, Gautam Sen photo courtesy of FIVA), from Bangalore, India. Two other cars also enjoying the attention of admirers were an ex-maharaja Delage D8 with a glamorous Figoni body that returned \u201chome\u201d for the first time since starring at the Paris Salon of 1930, and the Le Mans-winning Lorraine-Dietrich from the 1920s.<\/p>\n<p>As the early morning rain gave way to a cloudy but dry day, participants were able to absorb the sights and sounds of the historic French capital as they rolled past the Eiffel Tower, down the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es and into Montmartre before closing with lunch at PSA (Peugeot-Citro\u00ebn-DS) Headquarters near Porte Maillot.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two weeks ago in Paris, more than 100 historic automobiles gathered in the early morning chill at Polo de Paris in Bois de Boulogne for the Tour de Paris \u2014 a celebratory drive through the center of the Cit\u00e9 des Lumi\u00e8res.
