{"id":496176,"date":"2017-01-11T11:31:25","date_gmt":"2017-01-11T19:31:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=40589"},"modified":"2024-12-02T20:47:52","modified_gmt":"2024-12-02T20:47:52","slug":"eagles-land-petersen-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/eagles-land-petersen-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"Eagles to Land at Petersen Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Petersen Museum on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles is preparing to open a new exhibit honoring Dan Gurney called \u201cThe Eagles Have Landed.\u201d The exhibit in the museum\u2019s Charles Nearburg Family Gallery will showcase the diversity of the various racing cars constructed by Gurney\u2019s All American Racers in nearby Santa Ana between 1966 and 1999, and include a dozen Eagle racing cars built to compete in Formula One, Indycars, sports-prototypes and Formula Ford \u2014 as well as one of Dan\u2019s signature Alligator motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit will be celebrated with an opening reception on the evening of Friday January 27, then opened to the public the next day and continue on display for a year. Extra texture to the AAR story will be provided by an array of important non-vehicle artifacts, including the first full-face helmet worn in motorsport competition \u2014 the Bell Star introduced by Dan at Indianapolis in 1968 \u2014 and the original magnum of Mo\u00ebt champagne that Gurney sprayed after his victory with A.J.
