Phipps has announced that the Concours, presented by August Classics, will once again be held on the grounds of the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, Maryland, on September 22-24, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement marks a return by the event to the original location of its first several years. At St. Michaels, collectors compete on an invitation-only basis and to qualify, their luxury cars must meet strict standards, such as having won similarly prestigious awards previously. The Concours has been named by some as one of the top 10 such events in the United States, and the event\u2019s Founding Chairman, George Walish, has called it the \u201cPro-Bowl\u201d to Pebble Beach\u2019s \u201cSuper Bowl\u201d of classic motorcar competitions.<\/p>\n<p>The Concours will continue its partnership with the Maritime Museum in 2017, with plans to continue to host the classic and antique boat showings at the Museum\u2019s Fogg\u2019s Cove Landing, as well as additional activities including, for the first time, classic automobiles for sale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat partnership remains particularly important to us,\u201d adds Phipps, \u201cas the beneficiary of the 2017 Concours will be the Classic Motor Museum of St. Michaels, and both the Motor Museum and Maritime Museum prioritize education for local kids and young adults.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the 2017 St. Michaels Concours d\u2019Elegance will go on sale in July and be available by visiting\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.smcde.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.smcde.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>St. Michaels Concours d\u2019Elegance Chairman Luke L.
