In this age of hi-tech carbon fiber car and aircraft construction, wood may now seem an odd material to use, but remember the days when it was very much a favored material for all sorts of things, houses and bonfires included. Still good for those, but the days of wooden aircraft and wooden cars have now passed us by.<\/p>\n

Owners of early MGs and the whole range of Morgans will be very familiar with the use of wood in their cars, as will others with earlier British cars. Ash frames abounded at one time. I am speaking here of the more sporty cars, not the classic American \u201cwoodies\u201d or even such as the Morris Minor Traveler, derided on the comedy shows as \u201can Elizabethan car.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
