The inaugural Riverside Military Academy Champions and Heroes has been delayed until June 2018. Organizers made the decision to postpone the event after the recent collapse of a section of Interstate 85 in Atlanta created traffic delays to and from the event site on the campus of the Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia.<\/p>\n

The inaugural Riverside Military Academy Champions and Heroes will now be staged June 1-3, 2018.<\/p>\n

The Champions and Heroes concept came from Doug Freedman, founder of the Carmel Concours on the Avenue held annually during Monterey Car Week. With the Champions and Heroes events, Freedman envisions an three-day showcase that includes a competitive time trial, a traditional Concours and a rally.<\/p>\n

Due to the unforeseen circumstance of the Atlanta, Georgia, Interstate-85 fire and subsequent elevated roadway collapse, the much anticipated Riverside Military Academy Champions and Heroes event has been delayed from its original dates. The closure of Interstate-85 until June 15, 2017 has created traffic at its worst and unbearable travel times to the extent that it is inappropriate to ask our event guests, sponsors, entrants, judges, spectators and event team to expose themselves to this unexpected difficulty. <\/em><\/p>\n

Our greatest hope is that you will feel we have made the correct strategic decision for the good of one and all.<\/p>\n

More information will be forthcoming as plans are finalized for the new target dates of June 1, 2, and 3, 2018.<\/p>\n
