{"id":496578,"date":"2017-05-17T11:29:40","date_gmt":"2017-05-17T18:29:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=46091"},"modified":"2024-08-24T20:28:56","modified_gmt":"2024-08-24T20:28:56","slug":"miata-heritage-cup-schedule-set","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/miata-heritage-cup-schedule-set\/","title":{"rendered":"Mazda Miata Heritage Cup &#8211; Schedule Set"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having taken the first steps into the world of vintage and historic racing at SVRA\u2019s Auto Club Speedway outing in California last month, Mazda\u2019s Miata Heritage Cup has announced four further races that will comprise the new championship\u2019s first season.<\/p>\n<p>Those standalone races for first-generation Miatas \u2014 those built between 1990 and 1997 \u2014 will be part of the SVRA weekends at:<\/p>\n<p>May 18-21 &#8211; Road America<\/p>\n<p>June 22-25 &#8211; Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course<\/p>\n<p>July 27-30 &#8211; Portland International Raceway<\/p>\n<p>Sept 21-24 &#8211; Virginia International Raceway<\/p>\n<p>For a $295 entry fee each racer will receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A two-day race weekend plus a test day for a total of approximately two hours of contact-free on-track time (vintage racing is not meant to be a contact sport);<\/li>\n<li>A special Mazda contingency program where every entry earns a $200 participation bonus;<\/li>\n<li>Dinner for two with the SVRA paddock on Saturday night;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe nature of vintage racing is hard competition, but with zero tolerance for contact,\u201d said John Doonan, director for Mazda North American Operations. \u201cIt will be great to see a field of Spec Miata racers racing clean, such that no body repairs are required.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Registration for the Road America and Mid-Ohio rounds is currently under way and can be facilitated by following these links:<\/p>\n<p>Road America &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/svra.com\/events\/2017-spring-vintage-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/svra.com\/events\/2017-spring-vintage-festival\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mid-Ohio &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/svra.com\/events\/2017-vintage-grand-prix-of-mid-ohio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/svra.com\/events\/2017-vintage-grand-prix-of-mid-ohio\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Having taken the first steps into the world of vintage and historic racing at SVRA\u2019s Auto Club Speedway outing in California last month, Mazda\u2019s Miata Heritage Cup has announced four further races that will comprise the new championship\u2019s first season.
