The man it is about, however, is electrical engineer Walt Hane who, upon finding one of the original 1965 Shelby GT350R Mustangs in his possession, decided he wanted to put it to its intended purpose and win the SCCA\u2019s National B Production championship.\u00a0The story details how Hane and his band of cohorts went about putting together the effort that would qualify their cherished car for 1966\u2019s season-closing American Road Race of Champions at Riverside Raceway in California, a long haul for Florida-based Hane and his crew. The race-by-race account outlines the trails, tribulations and triumphs that comprised Hane\u2019s championship year (spoiler alert), and offers a good read for anyone wanting to know what it\u2019s really like out there.<\/p>\n
