{"id":496772,"date":"2017-07-19T11:25:24","date_gmt":"2017-07-19T18:25:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=48517"},"modified":"2024-02-29T15:09:08","modified_gmt":"2024-02-29T15:09:08","slug":"silverstone-classic-sets-broadley-tribute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/silverstone-classic-sets-broadley-tribute\/","title":{"rendered":"Silverstone Classic (2017) &#8211; Sets Broadley Tribute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the recent passing of Lola founder Eric Broadley, the Motor Racing Legends team has announced a special Eric Broadley Tribute award to be presented to the fastest Lola in the Stirling Moss Trophy race at the upcoming Silverstone Classic, scheduled for July 28-30.\u00a0The special trophy will be presented by Martin Birrane, Chairman of Lola Group Holdings Ltd., and head of the Lola Group since 1997.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEric\u2019s creations will live on beyond all of us,\u201d said Birrane. \u201cLola, the brand he carved in stone, will still be remembered as one of the greatest names in motor racing a century from now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Motor Racing Legends Stirling Moss Trophy race for pre-\u201961 sports racers running to period specification, is among the featured races at this year\u2019s Classic. A full grid of 50 cars is expected to line up for the race on Saturday morning \u2014 among them many famous sports cars of the era including examples of the Jaguar D-Type, Lister Knobbly, Lotus 11, Lotus 15 and Cooper Monaco.
