{"id":496788,"date":"2017-07-26T10:40:55","date_gmt":"2017-07-26T10:40:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=49038"},"modified":"2023-12-10T21:36:55","modified_gmt":"2023-12-10T21:36:55","slug":"savannah-speed-classic-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/savannah-speed-classic-update\/","title":{"rendered":"HSR Savanna Speed Classic (2017) &#8211; Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Savannah, Georgia, will come alive with the roar of engines on the weekend of October 26-29 as the Savannah Speed Classic kicks off this year\u2019s 16<sup>th<\/sup> annual Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival on the Grand Prize of America Road Course with a unique road race experience offering an intimate look at the inner workings of the sport.<\/p>\n<p>Savannah touts itself as the birthplace of Grand Prix racing in America, and Historic Sportscar Racing brings wheel-to-wheel competition back to those roots with series races and enduros, as well as a downtown racecar parade, track touring, hot lap rides and pit access.<\/p>\n<p>It all begins on Thursday, October 26, with registration and technical inspection. Friday offers two qualifying sessions and a 4 p.m. start for HSR\u2019s Bob Woodman Tire International\/American Challenge contest.\u00a0Saturday morning will bring the third and final qualifying session, with racing commencing that afternoon with the Pre-War Feature Race.\u00a0Racing in the various HSR classes continues all day Sunday (above, Patrick Tremblay photo courtesy of HSR}, featuring a pair of B.R.M.
