On August 26, 2017, this one-of-a-kind event at the museum will serve as a prelude to the Connecticut circuit\u2019s Historic Festival 35, set for the weekend of September 1-4.<\/p>\n<p>The Simeone Automotive Foundation Museum\u2019s all-star \u201cLegends of Lime Rock\u201d panel of Skip Barber, Dave Nicholas, Oscar Koveleski, Butch Leitzinger, Bob Leitzinger and George Alderman will bring the past back to life for the audience as they discuss \u201cCars, Drivers, Stories.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The drivers aren\u2019t the only Legends of Lime Rock to be celebrated, as part of the evening will be spent watching some of the cars in action in the Simeone Museum\u2019s large driving area. Participants will be able to learn about those that graced the historic track 60 years ago. A Ferrari Testarossa, a Maserati 300, an MGA, a Jomar and many other significant pieces of racing history will be the subject of a talk by car aficionado and museum founder Dr. Fred Simeone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe really want this to be a reunion of drivers,\u201d said Dr. Simeone. \u201cThis will be an event where they can get together again, share stories and reminisce. Drivers form a lifelong bond on the track. We want to bring some of that to our event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The outdoor demonstration will be followed by a buffet and cocktails where participants can mingle with the guest drivers and catch up with fellow driver friends whom they may not have seen for some time. Moderators for the panel discussion include Dr. Simeone and Master of Ceremonies Dave Nicholas.
