Held at the legendary Italian marque\u2019s factory in Maranello, the auction celebrates Ferrari\u2019s 70<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary year with automotive milestones from the company\u2019s last seven decades. <em>Ferrari \u2013 Leggenda e Passione<\/em> will feature more than 35 of the most significant road and racing Ferraris ever built.<\/p>\n<p>Among recent additions to the exclusive event is a matching numbers 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider by Scaglietti, chassis no. 1503 GT (above, photo courtesy of RM Sotheby\u2019s). One of the most desirable examples of the ultimate open Ferrari of its era, 1503 GT is offered from nearly two decades of single ownership, having seldom been shown over this time.<\/p>\n<p>Also newly added is a 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO, chassis no. 57709, which is arguably one of the finest and best preserved examples in existence. The 255<sup>th<\/sup> of just 272 ever built, the 288 GTO is virtually as new throughout, having been purchased by its current owner in 1993 and stored ever since. Discovered earlier this year, the car has been carefully reconditioned and is beautifully preserved inside and out. Perhaps best of all, its odometer shows a mere 729 kilometers.
