Taking place on Saturday September 2, two days after the long-standing Chubb Insurance Concours d\u2019El\u00e9gance (see separate story), the inaugural Concours Masters event paid tribute to Ferrari\u2019s 70<sup>th<\/sup> year.<\/p>\n<p>With more than 50 of Maranello\u2019s finest lining up on the prestigious lawns of Blenheim Palace, the first Concours Masters was a brand-new take on the traditional Concours, designed to add an exciting dimension to the Salon Priv\u00e9 celebrations. Each year the \u201cMasters\u201d will focus on the anniversary of a historic automotive marque or a particular coachbuilder.<\/p>\n<p>A more relaxed version of a traditional judged Concours, the event\u2019s overall Owner\u2019s Choice Award was won by the ex-Walt Disney 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta \u201cTour de France\u201d by Carrozzeria Scaglietti. The very first of the second series 14-louver design, it was featured in the motion picture <em>The Love Bug,<\/em>\u00a0and won the hearts of the judges with its full Ferrari Classiche certification and simply stunning period-correct condition.<\/p>\n<p>Running a very close 2<sup>nd<\/sup> was a 1953 Ferrari 250 Inter-Europa Coupe by\u00a0Vignale. One of four bodied by Vignale and one of just 22 first-series 250 Europas, it\u2019s one of the rarest road-going \u201950s Ferraris ever. Beyond receiving its runner-up Owner\u2019s Choice Award, this special Ferrari also took home the Best Interior Pre-1970 Award and a trophy for Outstanding Coachwork.
