An estimated 1,000 collector cars, headlined by American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, Hot Rods and Resto Mods are scheduled to cross the block.<\/p>\n<p>Among the main attraction consignments are three that exemplify the quality and variety of the available selections: a <a href=\"http:\/\/mecum.us5.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=db3f33528e1496a2ba58ad3c9&amp;id=b7a5861462&amp;e=752c5c1fce\">1953 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster<\/a> (above, photo courtesy of Mecum Auctions) that is No. 91 of just 300 hand built that model year, and which has also benefited from a 1997 restoration; a triple-black, one-owner <a href=\"http:\/\/mecum.us5.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=db3f33528e1496a2ba58ad3c9&amp;id=273324be0f&amp;e=752c5c1fce\">1967 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible<\/a> with a matching-numbers engine; and a <a href=\"http:\/\/mecum.us5.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=db3f33528e1496a2ba58ad3c9&amp;id=2c13e975f1&amp;e=752c5c1fce\">1953 Buick Skylark Convertible<\/a> that is one of 1,690 produced and has been driven fewer than 300 miles since a frame-off restoration.<\/p>\n<p>A number of private collections are also set to be offered, including consignments from the <a href=\"http:\/\/mecum.us5.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=db3f33528e1496a2ba58ad3c9&amp;id=c562f4e3d5&amp;e=752c5c1fce\">Klairmont Kollection<\/a>, which features a strong selection of early woodies, including two Chrysler Town &amp; Country convertibles from model years 1947 and 1948, two 1950 Chrysler Town &amp; Country Newports and a 1948 Packard Eight Station Sedan. Collectors <a href=\"http:\/\/mecum.us5.list-manage1.com\/track\/click?u=db3f33528e1496a2ba58ad3c9&amp;id=165a9781e7&amp;e=752c5c1fce\">Bill and Elaine Mercurio<\/a> will bring their entire collection of 20 Corvettes and more to Chicago as well. The \u2018Vettes feature examples from each generation, with several Pace Car editions and many with ultra-low miles. Nearly all will be offered at no reserve.<\/p>\n<p>Doors open daily at 8 a.m., with the vehicle auction beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 5 and at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, October 6-7.
