Porsche racecars from seven decades will be featured at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, set for July 12-15, as the 70th anniversary of Porsche’s first car, the 356, is celebrated.<\/p>\n

Among the cars tackling Goodwood’s hillclimb course (above, Pete Austin photo) will be everything from 356s to 917s, as well as current-era GT cars. Porsche cars will also, of course, be featured on the event’s stunning central sculpture for the third time, the first marque to be so honored for a third time.<\/p>\n

\u201cPorsche has been one of our most loyal and enthusiastic partners,\u201d said event founder The Duke of Richmond and Gordon, \u201csupporting the Festival of Speed since 1995, and the Revival since 2010. This year Porsche will become the first manufacturer to create the central display at the Festival for the third time, underlining the huge contribution from this iconic manufacturer of world-beating racing cars and road cars.\u201d<\/p>\n

On display at this year’s Festival will be a selection of cars representing the full range of Porsche’s racing activities, including a strong GT and prototype presence as well as examples from the company’s history in Formula One, Indycar racing and rallying.
