\"\"<\/a>It is a privilege to update and run my test of the Eagle-Weslake. At Vintage Racecar we were very lucky to be close to Dan and his family. Casey Annis and I sat in his office and he told revealing stories, and occasionally from the other room Evi would say \u201cyou can\u2019t say that\u2026they\u2019re journalists!\u201d, but he did and laughed and said he knew we would keep his confidence, which we did. When my daughter Heather was two and was asked what she wanted for Christmas, she said,\u201dDan Gurney.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I told him that story at Goodwood years later and he picked up my phone and called her and said, \u201cThis is Santa Claus\u2026I\u2019m a bit late.\u201d She is now 55 and the story has never been forgotten. What a great guy\u2026we have been very lucky.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
