The top seller, from Gooding &amp; Co., was the silver \u201cbarn find\u201d Long Nose Alloy example (above, photo courtesy of Gooding &amp; Co.), that hammered for $2,530,000, while an immaculately presented red 275 GTB gaveled for $2,205,000 at RM Sotheby\u2019s sale.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the three sales by Gooding, RM Sotheby\u2019s and Bonhams registered more that $77 million in sales, with 22 cars selling for $1 million or more, topped by the two Ferraris. Summaries for each of the auction houses follow.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Gooding &amp; Co<\/u><\/strong><u>.<\/u> posted<strong> n<\/strong>early $36 million in total sales, with an outstanding 95.4 percent sell-through rate. No fewer than 14 cars sold for $1m or more, and 13 new World Records were set.<\/p>\n<p>The automotive world was abuzz when Gooding &amp; Company consigned the 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB mentioned above and a muscular 1967 Shelby 427 Cobra that had both been parked and left untouched in the same garage for a quarter of a century. While the Ferrari took overall top honors at $2,530,000, the 1967 Cobra sold for $1,045,000. Retaining its original chassis, engine and gearbox, the car sold for $2,205,000 (above, photo courtesy of RM Sotheby\u2019s).<\/p>\n<p>One of the most highly anticipated segments of the evening was the offering of Exclusively Porsche \u2014 The 964 Collection, a group of 11 limited-production Porsche 911 Type 964 variants assembled by a single owner. Standouts from the collection included the one-of-55 1993 911 Carrera RS 3.8 that sold for $1,655,000 to top the previous World Record for a Type 964 Porsche 911 Carrera RS sold at public auction.
