Now in their fifth year, the curated Luftgek\u00fchlt shows are more of a social happening than a traditional car show, and attract a legion of enthusiastic followers.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring a rare collection of air-cooled Porsches, the celebration will include a video projection wall on the third floor, DJ and live music, event photo opportunities, gourmet food and an exclusive gift package. Guests will also have an opportunity to speak with Porsche dignitaries and sample specialty cocktails in the museum&#8217;s rooftop penthouse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCelebrating the popularity of the Luftgek\u00fchlt show, our VIP reception will offer guests another opportunity to revel in the magnificence of iconic Porsches,\u201d said Petersen Executive Director Terry L. Karges. \u201cThis event will not only serve as the official kickoff to Luft 5, but also\u00a0commemorate the long-lasting effect of the marque on Southern California enthusiasts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Representing all the air-cooled Porsches in the automaker\u2019s history, the Luftgek\u00fchlt show is an immersive car culture event focused on a meticulously curated list of historically significant or interesting race and road cars \u2014 from the Pre-A 356 through the 993 model line. Co-founded by two-time Le Mans winner Patrick Long and acclaimed local designer Howie Idelson, the small gathering has grown into a cultural phenomenon in the greater Los Angeles area.<\/p>\n<p>The event will conclude with a panel discussion emceed by broadcaster Justin Bell and featuring guests such as Patrick Long and other Porsche legends.
