The non-profit Racing History Project and the Automobile Driving Museum have teamed up to present a very special dinner event. “Riverside Revisited” is set to take place at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, California on Saturday evening, September 8th.<\/p>\n

Sponsored by Autobooks-Aerobooks, Drivers Talk Radio and the Vintage Automobile Racing Association (VARA), this event is set to honor and celebrate the history of the iconic west coast racetrack … RIR was an international venue which, in its short 32 years of existence, hosted everything fast on wheels from Formula One to off-road racing and with motorcycles, sprint cars, stock cars, sports cars, and Karts thrown in just for good measure.<\/p>\n

Lothar Motschenbacher, Davey Jordan, John Morton, Pete Brock, Bob Bondurant, George Follmer, Linda Vaughn, Rick Knoop, Jim Busby, Bill Krause, Paul Pfanner, Marge Binks, and a many more have been invited as special guests.<\/p>\n

In addition, attendees who were part of the Riverside legend: drivers, workers, officials and faithful fans will be interviewed by former Riverside driver and very popular “Drivers Talk” radio host and Rick Titus.<\/p>\n

Dinner and slide presentation of some rarely seen photos by Pete Lyons, the author of the acclaimed new\u00a0“Riverside International Raceway” book,\u00a0<\/b>will all be part of the evening’s activities. Attendees will also be treated to a pair of short films and a lively round table discussion which will include some of the previously-mentioned guests along with other fans and luminaries of the era.<\/p>\n

There will also be an exclusive autograph session, and a silent auction featuring vintage memorabilia … all offered as components of a great afternoon and evening with the sights, sounds, people and memories of an incredible era.<\/p>\n

One of the highlights of the evening will be the 2018 presentation of the prestigious “Peter Bryant Challenger Award”<\/b>,\u00a0named for the legendary racing engineer and designer. The honor will be bestowed on the crew chief, car builder, or team mechanic who best epitomizes the unlimited spirit of the sport. Previous Bryant Award winners have included Howden Ganley, Phil Remington, Trevor Harris, Bruce Burness, Tyler Alexander, Alwin Springer and, most recently the late Dan Gurney. This year’s awardee will be announced shortly.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from this event will benefit L.A. County Children’s Charities, including Children’s Hospital L.A, the Red Cross and the American Cancer Society.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Only 100 fan tickets will be sold for this intimate event. Each attendee will receive a unique gift bag, a commemorative medallion and a limited edition poster depicting the glory years of the Riverside Raceway.<\/p>\n
