Autom\u00e9don is staging its 18th vintage car and motorbike show from Saturday October 13th to Sunday October 14th<\/sup>, 2018, at the Parc des Expositions de Paris Le Bourget in France. French coachwork will be honored via three central themes. \u201cMore than a tribute to French know-how and expertise, Autom\u00e9don wishes to highlight the extraordinary work carried out by collectors and professionals to safeguard our vintage cars which belong to our industrial national heritage,\u201d says Yves Levasseur, the organizer of Autom\u00e9don.<\/p>\n

\"Automedon<\/a><\/p>\n

The first theme dedicated to French coachwork, from 1939 to 1970, will enable the visitors to discover vehicles made by great French coachworks including Fernandez & Darrin, Binder, Pourtout, Bugatti, Antem, Labourdette.<\/p>\n

The second theme will be the very special bodies of the front-wheel drive Citro\u00ebn convertibles. These will be gathered for the first time at Autom\u00e9don to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Club de la Traction Avant Universelle (the front-wheel drive universal Citro\u00ebn). Visitors will admire the original bodies made to measure by such car body makers as Robert de Chabot, Marius Renard, Emile Tonneline, Splendilux.<\/p>\n

The third theme of this 18th Autom\u00e9don show will be dedicated to Henri Chapron. This \u201cMaster car-body builder\u201d who exercised his talents at Levallois for more than 50 years, based his work mainly on the Delage, Delahaye or Rolls-Royce chassis. He was the one who designed, among other cars, the DS convertible, the SM convertible, the Renault 4HP Autobleu and the 604 Landaulet Peugeot. He also made the coachwork for G\u00e9n\u00e9ral de Gaulle\u2019s presidential cars, as well as those of his successors including Jacques Chirac\u2019s. Autom\u00e9don\u2019s visitors will have the opportunity to see one of these presidential cars.<\/p>\n
