Ralph Lauren’s 1937 Bugatti Type 57 SC Gandoff Drophead Coupe — one of only two of it’s kind — won “Best in Show – Road and Touring” at the 36th annual Sunday in the Park Concours d’Elegance during Lime Rock’s Historic Festival. With it’s coupe body style, riveted seams, tear drop fenders and distinguished Art Deco style, the near priceless car was undoubtedly a show-stopper — or “\u00eatre extraordinaire” as the French say! The Lauren’s Bugatti also won a Best in Class award out of the 1930s Bugatti.<\/p>\n

Both the Concours d’Elegance and the Gathering of the Marques produced a phenomenal field of vehicles,” said Frank Taylor, Sunday in the Park Director of Operations. “That, matched with the fantastic weather, produced huge crowds of spectators enjoying the Bugatti on show and the impressive field of cars. You can not beat the two best in show cars — both Bugattis — both different but both amazing vehicles.”<\/p>\n

Taylor noted that the event attracted a wide variety of cars from hot rods and super cars to 1960s vintage sports cars and pre-war brass era cars. “All of these matched with three of the rarest Bugattis in the world at one show — the Fred Simeone 59G, Peter Mullin’s Atlantic and Lauren’s Coupe — made for a world-class show,” Taylor said.<\/p>\n
