From September 19\u201321, the cities of Venice and Trieste will host the second edition of the Lamborghini & Design Concorso d’Eleganza. Some thirty classic Lamborghini cars will participate in the event, including the most iconic models of the brand\u2019s history produced between 1963 and 1991, as well as some more modern specimens. The concours is organized by Lamborghini\u2019s Polo Storico, the department responsible for preserving Lamborghini\u2019s heritage, and this year\u2019s edition pays tribute to the famous Italian architect Gae Aulenti (1927-2012), who was born near Trieste and is renowned for representing Italian design and architecture worldwide, with works in Europe, America and Asia.<\/div>\n

According to the event program, the cars will leave Venice on the morning of Friday 20th and arrive in Portopiccolo (Trieste) after a tour of some 200 kilometers. The Concorso d’Eleganza will take place on Saturday morning from 8.30 to noon against the stunning backdrop of the village, where the cars entered will be evaluated by a select group of international judges who are lovers of beauty and true connoisseurs of Lamborghini models from every era. To celebrate the creative genius of Gae Aulenti, the inspiration for this year\u2019s concours, the square facing the port of Portopiccolo will become an open-air museum displaying various objects related to her projects. The concours Lamborghini drivers will arrive in Piazza Unit\u00e0 d\u2019Italia around lunchtime, and then in the afternoon will retrace the famous Trieste-Opicina hill climb road.<\/div>\n

The first edition of Lamborghini & Design was held in Neuch\u00e2tel, Switzerland, in 2017, giving the participants a firsthand look at the work of Le Corbusier, one of the most important architects and designers of the 20th century.<\/div>\n

Lamborghini Polo Storico, inaugurated in 2015, is Automobili Lamborghini\u2019s department dedicated to preserving the heritage of the House of Sant\u2019Agata Bolognese. Its activities include the restoration and certification of all Lamborghinis produced up to 2001, as well as the reconstruction of spare parts for classic Lamborghinis, for which more than 200 new code numbers were introduced in 2018 alone. Polo Storico also conserves and manages the company archives to support the preservation of all classic Lamborghini cars.<\/p>\n
