Photo: Chuck Andersen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The new SCCA car class added by the CRB for 2020 is named Prototype X (PX) and will also be deployed at all SCCA Road Racing Regional, U.S. Majors Tour and Hoosier Racing Tire Super Tour events. Similar to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scca.com\/u\/xix06\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GT-X class<\/a>\u00a0created in 2019, PX is open to various prototype vehicles that have been competing in U.S. road racing over the past several years. Deanna Flanagan, SCCA\u2019s Road Racing Director, said examples include Daytona Prototype and Le Mans Prototype cars, as well as older IMSA GTP and Camel Light racecars. Eligible cars will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Daytona Prototype Gen #1 (2003-2007):<\/li>\n<li>Daytona Prototype Gen #2 (2008-2011):<\/li>\n<li>Daytona Prototype Gen #3 (2012-2016):<\/li>\n<li>Daytona Prototype International (2017-Present):<\/li>\n<li>IMSA GTP (1981-1995)<\/li>\n<li>IMSA Camel Light (1985-1993)<\/li>\n<li>Le Mans Prototype 1 (1999-2013)<\/li>\n<li>Le Mans Prototype 2 (1999-Present)<\/li>\n<li>Le Mans Prototype 3 (2017-Present)<\/li>\n<li>Le Mans Prototype Challenge (2009-2018)<\/li>\n<li>World Sports Car (1994-1998)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cAcross the country there are a number of competition-ready cars, now privately owned, that fall within SCCA\u2019s new Prototype X classification,\u201d Flanagan said. \u201cThe idea behind creation of Prototype X is to provide a way for these beautiful machines to participate at SCCA road races.
