The cars were driven by Vauxhall\u2019s MD, Percy Kidner, and co-directors, AJ Hancock and Rudolf Selz, all of whom finished the 1230-mile event, but alas without collecting any awards. However, due to the cars\u2019 speed and durability, a legend had been created and later the same year a road version, known as the \u201cPrince Henry Type\u201d was shown to the press.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Autocar <\/em>noted that the new car was, \u201c\u2026a particularly fast, light car for road work,\u201d with Vauxhall guaranteeing that the Prince Henry could achieve \u201cmore than 90 mph\u201d when fitted with a single-seat body.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load\" title=\"Vauxhall\u2014A Proud Heritage\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"about:blank\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JamHRauUXGI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><noscript><iframe title=\"Vauxhall\u2014A Proud Heritage\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JamHRauUXGI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>The 1910 car photographed below has been owned by Vauxhall Motors since 1946 and is thought to be a pre-production example, one of only nine surviving cars in the world. It is fitted with the earlier 3-liter, 20-hp engine (later cars had 4-liter, 25-hp units), a lightweight chassis and low front axle.
