After an unprecedented temporary closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic the North East Motor Sports Museum (922 NH Route 106, Loudon, NH) is ready to reopen to the public on Saturday June 20th <\/sup>for the first time since March 7th<\/sup>. The museum will reopen on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm for the remainder of June with possibly adding Fridays starting in July. New Hampshire museums have been given the approval to reopen by Governor Sununu with guidelines from the state.<\/p>\n

While the museum was closed to the public for 104 days the team has been updating exhibits. The museums 2020 feature exhibit \u201cThe Mighty Midgets\u201d presented by late board member Frank Manafort opens on June 20th<\/sup> and will feature seven historically significant New England midget cars. In addition to the cars, you will see rare midget photography and artifacts. Other new cars to arrive include \u201cJungle Jim\u201d Liberman\u2019s Lindblad Funny Car, Richie Evans Ghost Rider Modified, Joey Logano\u2019s 2018 NASCAR Cup Car and Alan Darrah\u2019s 1930 Ford Ice Racer.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of rare New England auto racing photos have been added to our one of a kind photo books and 25 new large format photos are now hanging on our walls. Also now on display is the original Catamount Stadium street sign from Vermont.<\/p>\n

The museum will be open for extended days and hours during the rescheduled NASCAR Cup weekend on August 2nd<\/sup>. Our annual car show fundraiser has been re-branded and revamped as \u201cHot Rods, Muscle and More\u201d and will take place on August 15th<\/sup>. The car show will be co-promoted with the popular NH Muscle Cars Club.<\/p>\n

Visiting the museum will be a bit different. We are asking visitors to please wear masks while inside the museum and practice social distancing from others as we protect our volunteers and guests. If you do not have a mask one will be provided for you. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the museum. Our interactive exhibits such as our slot car track and iRacing Simulator will be temporarily closed per state guidelines.<\/p>\n

The museum is owned by the Racing History Preservation Group, a 501-c-3 educational non-profit organization that seeks to discover, preserve and share the history of motorsports in the Northeast.
