Historic racers from across the country are signing up to participate in the inaugural running of the\u00a0Groesbeck Grand Prix – A Motorsports Festival, September 5-6, 2020. The event seeks to bridge the gap between car shows and vintage racing allowing more of the public to experience the thrill of historic auto racing against the stunning backdrop of the historic Fort Parker Restoration in Groesbeck, Texas.<\/p>\n

NASCAR legend Mike Powell and his race-winning 1963 Ford Fairlane<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Racers include NASCAR legend Mike Powell and his race-winning 1963 Ford Fairlane, Paul Hagger who will be behind the wheel of his Chevron B23 which was driven by famed Japanese racing driver Hiroshi Kazato to victory at Fuji Speedway, and Texan Primo Maor will be piloting his classic 1967 Alfa Romeo GT Jr. In addition to those exciting cars, several other historical MG, Porsche, Fiat, and Austin Healey sports cars have entered the inaugural time trial.<\/p>\n

The Groesbeck Grand Prix, is unlike any event in Texas, creating an immersive experience for both the participant and attendee. This one-of-a-kind event brings historic racing to a family setting allowing spectators to enjoy vehicles at speed in a historic setting. Inside the historic pioneer fort recreation, 50 hand-selected vehicles will vie for the first-ever Mexia Concours Trophy.<\/p>\n
