McQueen famously raced the car himself at Riverside, Phoenix and Sebring, in 1970, coming tantalizingly close to winning the 12-Hour Florida classic.<\/p>\n<p>For the filming of McQueen&#8217;s &#8220;Le Mans&#8221;, 908\/2 was entered in the 1970 24-Hour race, with a specially mounted nose camera, to be driven by Jonathon Williams and Herbert Linge.
