The\u00a0Giti\u00a0Tire and WS Racing\u2019s \u2018Girls Only\u2019 team made their debut last year and within a very short time, they have risen to fame. The \u2018Girls Only\u2019 team immediately caught the attention of the world as they provide the unique situation of being the first team in major international racing to feature all female drivers, coach, and crew. Back in May 2019, with grit and determination, the team made their mark at the 24 Hours\u00a0N\u00fcrburgring<\/a> and gained respect for their fighting spirit.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Their debut appearance at the 24 Hours N\u00fcrburgring was actioned-packed. After their radiator of their\u00a0Giti\u00a0VW’s was damaged\u00a0due to\u00a0flying debris from another accident, their engine sensationally blew, and in the moment all seemed lost.\u00a0With defiant never-die ethos, the team and the crew rose above the problem and spent a grueling 13 hours to get the car\u00a0back on track. They were able to successfully return to the track and finished the remainder of the race. The perseverance of the team earned them the admiration of the\u00a0audience.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Their success during the 2019 VLN season didn\u2019t stop as the team drove on to achieve an extraordinary SP3T class win in the concluding race of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Despite the unexpected events that have affected the world during the first half of the year, the team hasn’t been resting but instead took the time to join the top-level Sim-Racing competition to keep themselves\u00a0track ready. Now, in their revamped VW<\/a> Golf GTI TCR vehicle, the team is making great inroads in 2020 with several positive results in races to date.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But what makes this dynamic team a success?\u00a0Let\u2019s get to know the three VW Golf drivers dubbed \u2018Giti\u2019s\u00a0Angels.\u2019\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Carrie Schreiner\u00a0<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Carrie Schreiner hailed from\u00a0Volkingen, Germany,\u00a0was the most successful girl in youth national German kart racing.\u00a0On moving into\u00a0Formula 4,\u00a0she\u00a0showed\u00a0her\u00a0true\u00a0potential as she\u00a0secured\u00a0some Top 10 results despite\u00a0the challenge of competing against the\u00a0strongest young drivers in the world. The media showed\u00a0great\u00a0interest in Schreiner as she was featured in some television channels including Spiegel TV, RTL, Sky, ORF, and the SR.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Schreiner\u00a0also joined US Racing, British MSA Formula 4<\/a>, and the German ADAC Formula 4 competitions.\u00a0She then transitioned into racing the\u00a0Lamborghini\u00a0Hurucan\u00a0Super\u00a0Trofeo, wherein she drove her way to success in Asia and Middle East competitions as the youngest and only female starter.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

At 21 years old, Schreiner\u00a0has\u00a0already gained\u00a0worldwide\u00a0attention for her skills in racing.\u00a0In addition to racing the VW in the VLN endurance races, she also drives a top-rated\u00a0Giti\u00a0vehicle, the Audi<\/a> R8, which has already secured a win in the SP8 class this season.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In her free time, she\u00a0winds down by\u00a0listening to Pop and R&B music, riding her bike and\u00a0checking out the latest\u00a0movies with her friends.\u00a0A\u00a0solid\u00a0finish in the\u00a024 Hours\u00a0N\u00fcrburgring\u00a0will be\u00a0the perfect gift for Schreiner as she will be celebrating her birthday less than two weeks from the race.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s really cool, that there are more and more female drivers and female line ups in many different cars and series. I expect more class wins during the season and our target is a podium at the 24 hours race at the N\u00fcrburgring,\u201d<\/p>\r\nCarrie Schreiner<\/cite><\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

C\u00e9lia\u00a0Martin\u00a0<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

C\u00e9lia\u00a0Martin\u2019s\u00a0passion\u00a0for racing began\u00a0at the early age of\u00a010 years old while enjoying road trips\u00a0with her\u00a0father\u2019s off-road vehicle.\u00a0Although dreaming of racing from an early age, there were many hurdles to overcome in her pursuits such as the\u00a0financial costs\u00a0associated with driving and the challenges of being\u00a0one of only\u00a0a few female drivers behind the wheel\u00a0on the\u00a0race track.\u00a0As luck has it,\u00a0near her hometown in\u00a0Bordeaux is a\u00a0race track\u00a0where she\u00a0was able to establish friendships with race drivers\u00a0and was\u00a0fortunate to be\u00a0given the opportunity to drive around the track herself.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

C\u00e9lia\u00a0Martin<\/figcaption>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In 2014, after racing for the first time in\u00a0N\u00fcrburgring, she become the first French woman to battle on the celebrated track. She led the French racing team for a Peugeot Sport team and\u00a0to her credit\u00a0was able to claim many podium finishes. In 2018\u00a0she became a pilot for Jaguar<\/a> Land Rover and is credited as being the first French woman to be a Race Taxi pilot at the\u00a0N\u00fcrburgring\u00a0testing center.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

When she\u2019s not behind the wheel, Martin assists and animates behind the scenes of F1,\u00a0as\u00a0an Expert Host for VIP guests of the Paddock Club. With eight podium wins under her belt, Martin is\u00a0a force to be\u00a0reckoned\u00a0with\u00a0in the \u2018Girls Only\u2019 team as they pursue even greater success.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Laura\u00a0Kraihamer\u00a0<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Driving fast cars has always been the passion of Laura ever since the Salzburg, Austria native was only 12 years old. During this time she had just started karting with relative success, but even then, she was dreaming to be part of the world of big motorsports.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Laura\u00a0Kraihamer\u00a0<\/figcaption>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Kraihamer\u00a0was able to fulfill\u00a0her\u00a0dream\u00a0at 22\u00a0when she competed at the KTM X-Bow Series in 2013.\u00a0\u201cIn the first year, I needed something to get in. By the second, I had already won a championship (KTM X-Bow Battle Champion Endurance 2014) and a runner-up result,\u201d\u00a0remembered \u00a0Kraihamer.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Aside from being a great driver,\u00a0Kraihamer\u00a0also has a business and a law degree, and enjoys riding her race bike, and keeps herself fit by running every day, often around the mountains of Salzburg. For fun, she loves entertainment parks and riding roller coasters. Currently, she wants to further her career on the track with the 2020 VLN and 24 Hours\u00a0N\u00fcrburgring\u00a0races.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
