The Vanwall Group is the successor to the legendary British Vanwall motor racing team.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In 1957, Vanwall became known as the first British-built car, with British drivers \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/remembering-stirling-moss-1929-2020\/\">Sir Stirling Moss<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/1955-24-hours-of-le-mans-race-profile\/\">Tony Brooks<\/a> \u2013 to win the British Grand Prix. They had six victories in 1958\u00a0and were then hailed as the first winner of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_Formula_One_World_Constructors%27_Champions#:~:text=The%20Formula%20One%20World%20Constructors,Manufacturers%2C%20in%201958%20to%20Vanwall.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Formula One World Constructors Trophy<\/a>. Source: Peter Haroldt for Revs Institute<\/figcaption>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Only five of the six continuation cars will be offered for private sale as the sixth car will form the core of a Vanwall Historic Racing Team.\u00a0Each vehicle will have historic racing and vehicle restoration experts working on them in Lincolnshire, England. The continuation cars will have a meticulously engineered 270bhp, 2,489cc Vanwall engine based on the original drawings and blueprints from the 1950s. The hand-built continuation cars will be sold for \u00a31.65 million ex VAT.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>At its peak, Vanwall was known for innovative engineering, with the aerodynamics design by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hemmings.com\/stories\/article\/frank-costin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Frank Costin<\/a> working hand in hand with the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.espn.co.uk\/f1\/motorsport\/driver\/704.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Colin Chapman<\/a> chassis. They introduced the use of disc brakes in Formula One, instead of the drum brakes, giving them a small but important competitive advantage over the Ferraris.
