Hand-built 1993\u00a0Isdera\u00a0Commendatore\u00a0112i, the only unit built, outfitted with an iconic<\/strong><\/strong> Mercedes-Benz\u2019s M120 V-12 engine<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

RM\u00a0Sotheby\u2019s is\u00a0preparing for their\u00a0much-awaited\u00a0annual Paris sale that is scheduled for February\u00a02021. Since Covid-19 safety measures are still in place, there will be a completely new format for theRM Sotheby’s 2021 Paris auction.<\/p>\r\n

The new format will consist of\u00a0two parts,\u00a0on February 13\u00a0a live-streamed sale\u00a0will be\u00a0performed,\u00a0and\u00a0it will be followed by\u00a0a\u00a0time-based Online Only\u00a0sale\u00a0on RM Sotheby’s website.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1993 Isdera Commendatore 112i\u00a0<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In automotive history, when a car is labeled a \u2018unicorn,\u2019 you know it’s going to be extremely rare, or in a few cases, one of a kind. One such unicorn is the 1993\u00a0Isdera\u00a0Commendatore\u00a0112i.\u00a0Isdera\u00a0is a Germany-based,\u00a0supercar manufacturer that created a lone\u00a0Commendatore\u00a0112i.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a0Isdera\u00a0was founded by\u00a0an\u00a0inventive\u00a0engineer and designer,\u00a0Eberhard Schulz. In 1971, he created his first sports car, the\u00a0Erator\u00a0GTE, and eventually worked for Porsche. Afterward, he joined B&B GmbH & Co Auto KG based in Frankfurt\/Main.<\/p>\r\n

In 1978, the prototype CW311, built by B&B, was shown in the 1978 IAA at Frankfurt and featured Mercedes-Benz mechanicals.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In 1982 Schulz founded\u00a0Isdera, a company\u00a0that specializes in small-series production, design, and engineering services. They launched their first vehicle, the\u00a0Isdera\u00a0Spyder, but what Schulz really wanted was to develop a production version of the CW311. In 1983, the Imperator 108i was launched, and from 1983 to 1991, less than 20 examples were produced.<\/p>\r\n

In honor of Enzo Ferrari<\/a>,\u00a0Isdera\u00a0developed and launched the\u00a0 Commendatore\u00a0112i. It was equipped with a 6.0-liter Mercedes-Benz M120 V-12 engine\u00a0that can produce more than 400bhp. A bespoke flywheel delivers power to the rear wheels, and it uses a specially adapted form of the six-speed RUF Porsche <\/a>gearbox.<\/p>\r\n

It sported a low-slung GRP bodywork, and when tested through the Mercedes-Benz wind tunnel <\/a>it showed that it had a\u00a00.306 drag coefficient, allowing it a top speed of more than 200mph.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

After a Swiss consortium invested in\u00a0Isdera, the\u00a0Commendatore\u00a0was dubbed \u2018The Silver Arrow\u2019 and was shown at the 1999 Frankfurt IAA six years later, with different specifications.<\/p>\r\n

The 1997 Need for Speed II game for PlayStation and PC also featured the car, helping in growing its cult following.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

When\u00a0Isdera\u00a0re-acquired the car in 2016, it was returned it to its original and correct 1993 specification.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The example is being offered in this specification and boasts of its correct BBS wheels, iconic\u00a0Isdera\u00a0periscope rearview mirror,\u00a0Recaro\u00a0blue, and black trim, and Porsche Arctic Silver paintwork. It has been driven less than 10,500km from new.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Created and rebuilt to be road-worthy, the car is currently registered in Germany and has been registered in Switzerland previously. It is a car that would best be enjoyed on the open road.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Accompanying the sale are its history file, and certificate of authenticity from\u00a0Isdera\u00a0that confirms that it is the only example in existence.<\/p>\r\n

The example is on offer directly from\u00a0Isdera\u00a0and is surely one of the most intriguing one-off automobiles that were built in the 1990s.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Single-owner Collection of Lamborghini\u2019s<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Aside from the\u00a0Isdera, RM Sotheby\u2019s has a lot of others on offer for the Paris sale and one of the highlights is a single-owner collection of Lamborghini’s. All the cars in the collection are in pristine restored condition and every single one is Polo\u00a0Storico\u00a0certified and\u00a0is\u00a0an exquisite example of each model.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
