In the 55th<\/sup> year of the Ferrari Owners\u2019 Club \u2013 and the 75th<\/sup> anniversary of Ferrari itself \u2013 the second National Ferrari Owners\u2019 Day takes place at Sywell Aerodrome on Saturday\u00a0June 4th<\/sup>, with a central focus on showcasing some of the most unique and historic Italian sports cars.<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s inaugural event saw over 600 Ferraris and nearly 1,700 visitors attend Sywell for a celebratory day of all things Cavallino Rampante. This year\u2019s NFOD aims to build on the success of the 2021 launch, with an even wider range of activities, hospitality and features previously curtailed by Covid-19 restrictions.<\/p>\n

Particular attention has been paid to encouraging the attendance of cars from Ferrari\u2019s early history, many of which have not been seen at National FOC events for many years. Tipos (model types) expected to be in attendance include the 166MM and 212 Export open-cockpit sportscars, numerous 250 V12s, compact Dino and the curvaceous, muscular 365 GTB\/4 Daytona.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Over 75 cars have registered for the Superformance Runway Speed Experience, which allows drivers to put their foot to the floor and experience the thrill of flat-out runs in a controlled environment on Sywell’s 1,200-meter runway. This year these will be complimented with motorsport demonstration runs, showcasing competition cars, both contemporary and from Ferrari\u2019s 75-year heritage, in a spectacular display of sight and sound.<\/p>\n

Supported by Official Ferrari Dealer Graypaul Nottingham, Ferrari North Europe will also be offering test drives and viewings of the latest models including the recently-released Ferrari 296GTB. Across the aerodrome there will be an expanded range of casual food and drink options, as well as specific hospitality packages for the first time in the Charles Stanley Driver\u2019s Club. Club Partners and other lifestyle brands will also be in attendance as part of the FOC Exhibitors\u2019 Village.<\/p>\n

Ferrari visitors to the show can display their pride and joy in the Meguiars\u2019 Pride of Ownership \u2013 not a concours, but an opportunity for owners who keep their car in excellent order to compete for the free-to-enter Meguiars\u2019 Trophy. The victor of the Pride of Ownership competition will also receive a \u2018Day in the Bay\u2019 \u2013 spending a day with Meguairs\u2019 UK professionals to learn the fine art of vehicle detailing.<\/p>\n

Silverstone Auctions are holding a best of breed Sale of Ferraris in Hanger One, with lots expected from across the UK and Europe. Notable lots include a 1960 250 GT with factory development provenance, and a 1974 Ferrari 365 GT4 BB, ordered by original UK importer Maranello Concessionaires as their official demonstrator, and the subject of numerous contemporary road test reports.<\/p>\n

Given Sywell\u2019s distinguished aviation history, there\u2019s even the opportunity to take to the skies \u2013 with a limited number of two-seat Spitfire and Tiger Moth warbird flights available. In celebration of the Queen\u2019s Platinum Jubilee, warbirds will also take to the sky during the day\u2019s programme for a dramatic air display.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first NFOD was a real success, bringing together Ferrari owners from across the UK, but we\u2019ve worked hard to make the 2022 edition even better with a greater focus on celebrating cars of all ages, not just the most current models,\u201d said Christian Mineeff, Chairman of the Ferrari Owners\u2019 Club of Great Britain. \u201cI\u2019m delighted that after the disruption of the last two summers, we will be able this year to properly celebrate Ferrari\u2019s 75th<\/sup> birthday in style, and I welcome all owners \u2013 regardless of model \u2013 to join us at Sywell in June to build on the 600-car milestone we set last summer.\u201d<\/p>\n
