{"id":499860,"date":"2022-06-06T11:38:27","date_gmt":"2022-06-06T18:38:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=133276"},"modified":"2024-02-03T08:39:15","modified_gmt":"2024-02-03T08:39:15","slug":"mansell-mania-at-goodwood-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/mansell-mania-at-goodwood-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Goodwood Festival of Speed (2022) &#8211; Mansell Mania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Goodwood has announced that legendary British Formula 1 driver, Nigel Mansell, will attend the 2022 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, taking place June 23\u201326.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Mansell Mania\u2019 is set to sweep Goodwood once again as Mansell returns to the Festival of Speed to celebrate the 30<sup>th<\/sup>anniversary of his Formula 1 World Championship in 1992.<\/p>\n<p>In attendance across the weekend, Mansell will join the legions of motorsport icons who have been celebrated at the Festival of Speed, including a special balcony moment, evoking memories of British Grands Prix in the lates 80s and early 90s when \u2018Mansell Mania\u2019 swept the nation. Renowned for bringing together the cars and drivers that made each other famous, Mansell will be reunited with his 1992 championship-winning Williams FW14B and will also take to the Hill in a number of other cars from his Formula 1 days, including the Lotus 91, Ferrari 639 and 640.<\/p>\n<p>Nigel Mansell said: \u201c<em>I\u2019m thrilled to be coming to the Festival of Speed this year! It\u2019s always a wonderful event and I\u2019m looking forward to getting behind the wheel of some of my cars again and celebrating 30 years since my World Championship with all the Goodwood fans.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Duke of Richmond said: \u201c<em>As we prepare to celebrate the \u2018Masterminds of Motorsport\u2019, I am delighted that Nigel will be joining us at the Festival of Speed to celebrate his incredible achievements in Formula 1.
