Welcome to the eclectic world of The Vintage Sports-Car Club and its unique competition the Pomeroy Trophy, or the \u2018Pom\u2019 as it is known. It is an annual event held in February and is open to all types of cars and motorcycles.<\/p>\n

Originally conceived by Laurence Pomeroy, writer of the famous Grand Prix Car books, the Pom was first held in 1952 and this year\u2019s event was the 67th running. Pomeroy\u2019s original idea was to find the most efficient vehicle through a series of tests \u2013 slalom, acceleration, braking and top speed over a measured distance. Finally, each car competes in a 40-minute, high speed trial on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. A complicated formula is applied to each car\u2019s performance and the result is the winner of the Pomeroy Trophy for the year. This year’s event, held Feb. 25, 2023, was won by the Subaru Imprezza driven by John Felstead.<\/p>\n
