Market:<\/strong> The 2008 Sports Car Market<\/em> Price Guide suggests a $30,000 \u2013 $40,000 price range for a 911S, while the January \u2013 May Cars That Matter<\/em> Price Guide advocates a $27,000 – $51,500 range. Both guides are off the mark, as real world prices have moved dramatically higher over the last 6-12 months. <\/p>\n

However, this is far from a stock 911S, so all bets are off in regards to price. While the seller is probably close to breaking even, the asking price seems pretty steep to SCD.<\/p>\n

Seller Comments:<\/strong> “Welded in roll cage – 911ST Seats – RSR front struts w\/custom valved Bilstein’s – Smart Racing Sway Bars \u2013 Larger torsion bars – 930 Turbo brakes front and rear – Headers w\/ sport exhaust \u2013 Carrera oil cooler”<\/p>\n

“This car was completely redone including engine reseal, Carrera tensioner upgrade, rebuilt\u00a0Weber 40’s, oil cooler, and clutch assembly. The underside of the car was done with factory floors and pans then they were sealed with Wurth Zinc primer and then Wurth German undercoating. Very tastefully updated and restored into a great example of a unique short wheelbase 911.”<\/p>\n

Sports Car Digest Comments:<\/strong> Replicas of famous 911 models like RS, RSR and now STs have become very popular as the original cars have skyrocketed in price. SCD prefers an original, but we understand the rationale for a replica.<\/p>\n

We cannot help but like this 911 ST replica. For starters, it is great looking with a very aggressive stance. Plus, the tuned 2.7 liter, modified suspension, 930 brakes and full welded-in roll cage would be a lot of fun for driver education days or the occasional Sunday drive. Well done.<\/p>\n

This asking price of $79,900 will buy a very nice stock 911S, however, so it may be smart to admire this 911 online unless you plan on keeping it for a long time.<\/p>\n
