{"id":73087,"date":"2006-05-01T13:00:04","date_gmt":"2006-05-01T20:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=73087"},"modified":"2024-12-27T01:24:53","modified_gmt":"2024-12-27T01:24:53","slug":"whats-in-a-name","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/whats-in-a-name\/","title":{"rendered":"What\u2019s in a Name?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='memberful-global-teaser-content'>\n<p>Car names have always fascinated me.\u00a0 Brands yes, but particularly model names.\u00a0 There have been countless quirky ones over time, and many that have stood the test of time.<\/p>\n<p>Did you know one of the names under consideration for what became the Edsel was \u201cUtopian Turtletop?\u201d\u00a0 Whatever that is.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/ac-shelby-cobra-a-beast-to-tame\/\">Shelby\u2019s Cobra<\/a> was and remains perfect for that iconic roadster.\u00a0 So many of the Italian car names have the rhythm and the romance that goes along with that language: <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/de-tomaso-pantera\/\">De Tomaso Pantera<\/a> always sounded good on my ear.\u00a0 Ferrari had the SuperFast and the SuperAmerica.\u00a0 Mustang was an inspired choice for Ford\u2019s world-changing pony car in 1965.\u00a0 <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/ford-thunderbird-1955-1957\/\">Thunderbird<\/a><\/em> was another particularly brilliant naming choice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n        .memberful-global-teaser-content p:last-child{\n            -webkit-mask-image: linear-gradient(180deg, #000 0%, transparent);\n            mask-image: linear-gradient(180deg, #000 0%, transparent);\n        }\n    <\/style>\n<div class='memberful-global-marketing-content'>\n<div class=\"a07online-global-marketing-content-wrapper\">\n<h2 class=\"a07online-global-marketing-title\">No Subscription?
