It&#8217;s named after Sir Stirling Moss for his legendary win at the 1955 Mille Miglia.<\/p>\n<p>As an indefinite article, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.supercars.net\/cars\/4309.html\"> the Stirling Moss<\/a> is strictly a two seat roadster with no soft top and no windscreen. The appeal of such a design will no doubt limit the supercar&#8217;s appeal, but Mercedes are still confident enough to announce a production of 75. Enough for a one-make race series if we can be so speculative.<\/p>\n<p>The extreme specification of this SLR comes straight from the 300SLR Stirling raced at the 1955 Mille Miglia. Both cars have a functional air brake that can take the strain off of tires and rotors.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike the new car, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.supercars.net\/cars\/1200.html\">the original &#8216;722&#8217;<\/a> is currently valued as one of the most expensive in the world.
