This one is a must-have for all who race or cherish the marque. It is filled with tuning and timing tips as well as improvements that may, or may not, be acceptable to the SCCA or the various vintage clubs, where these matters vary widely from club to club.<\/p>\n<p>A special section, \u201cBuilding a Racing GT-6,\u201d covers 100 pages, where Kas points out that: \u201cThe GT-6 has been overlooked. Far fewer are raced than the TR-3, TR-4 and Spitfire. I think folks are missing out on a great car. It has a great engine, good suspension, good looks and is relatively easy to work on.\u201d The GT-6 section goes into considerable detail and is profusely illustrated. It\u2019s something to consider for anyone looking for a car to get into vintage racing, as the methods of building an engine and the care taken apply to any engine, not just Triumphs.<\/p>\n<p>Kastner frequently borrows from others\u2019 experiences, and in the process covers such important matters as gearboxes, exhaust systems, cylinder heads, and the cooling of engines and brakes. Even a Triumph Herald for\u00a0 SCCA C-Sedan is included.\u00a0The book contains 252 pages on high-quality glossy stock appropriate for the reproduction of the many photographs. Also included is a DVD with additional photographs. The price is $47.50 plus $4.16 sales tax for those who live in California.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For those of you TR nuts who must have a copy, you may not find it in a bookstore.
