Pebble Beach is very much the concours of the world and ever since the era of Jack Nethercutt, it has been promoting tremendous energy into restoration debuts. Thus, many of the cars are as close to perfection as they will ever be in an attempt to win Best of Show which raises both value and respect.<\/p>\n

2007’s winner fit this description to a tee, but was probably the first ever to come from the ‘Prewar Sports and Racing’ class. With Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg (ACD) being the feature marques, Pebble was almost obliged to give the Best of Show to one of them – and that’s just what happened. Among 18 other Duesenbergs, the jury chose a controversial Mormon Meteor Speedster<\/a> to take top honors.<\/p>\n

Pebble Beach had many interesting classes and four dedicated to every important era of Aston Martin. These were surrounded by other sections for Brookland’s racing cars, 10 liter plus racers and a lineup of ’32 Ford Dueces. Out front in the concept lawn was Callaway’s new C16 Speester which was among other recently released prototypes.<\/p>\n

While it’s impossible to cover Pebble with any single gallery, we tried our best<\/a> for the 57th edition of the show. Richard Owen, Dirk de Jager and Stephan Bauer photographed the concours for 12 hours straight and captured all of the 201 entrants and the people surrounding them.
