1957\u21921959 Jaguar XK150 3.4 Hardtop Coupe<\/h1>\n

The third and final model in the XK line was the XK150. Easily identified by its new curved windshield, this model benefited from years of development since the first XK120 was launch in 1948. Jaguar described the roadster as \u201cfor the motorist who likes sports car zest in a closed car. With the famous XK engine and the same superb handling as the open model, it provides comfort and safety, plus the thrill of competition performance.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

One of the most important developments of the XK150 was the adoption of Dunlop disc brakes. These were often the focal point of the brochures which explained how the disc brake was first used on the Le Mans-winning C-Type of 1953.<\/p>\n

Two of the availble options for the XK150 included an automatic transmission and wire wheels.<\/p>\n

An optional Special Equipment Model was available which used the B-Type cylinder head and twin SU HD6 carburetors for 210 bhp. Other refinements included wire wheels, dual exhuast, windscreen washers. Above and beyond the SE model was the S-Type which used a straight-port cylinder head and three HD8 SU carburetors for 250 bhp @ 5500 rpm.<\/p>\n

1957 Jaguar XK150SE 3.4-Litre Coup\u00e9<\/a> – sold for \u20ac36,800<\/b> This left-hand drive, overdrive-equipped XK150SE was fully restored in Holland a few years ago. The paintwork is described as in good order with just a little patination giving the car a ‘period’ rather than ‘fresh out of the box’ look, while the interior is upholstered in matching grey\/blue leather (in excellent condition) with dark blue carpets. The engine bay is well detailed, boasting an additional Kenlowe cooling fan, and the chromed wire wheels are shod with four good tyres. We are advised that the car has been the subject of a complete mechanical check over. It starts ‘on the button’ and is said to pull strongly through the gears. The vendor drove the XK back to the UK from Holland via Calais and it ran faultlessly, indicating 120mph on the Jabbeke straight. 1958 Jaguar XK 150 3.4 Fixed Head Coupe<\/a> – sold for $60,500<\/b> The 1958 Jaguar XK 150 Fixed Head Coupe presented here in Sherwood Green with a black interior is a matching numbers example fitted with the potent 3.4 liter six-cylinder engine and twin SU carburetors. The car was treated to a primarily cosmetic restoration that was recently completed and included a complete body restoration and a comprehensive repaint by the Jaguar experts at Classic Showcase. The brightwork was re-chromed or polished as needed. All new suspension bushings and a-arms were installed, as were new brake calipers and hoses.
