While it retained the Daytona&#8217;s 4.4L DOHC V12 engine, the GTC\/4 featured new heads and a lower 8.8:1 compression ratio, reducing output to 340 bhp, with slightly less for U.S. emissions versions. It was fueled by six side-draft Weber 38 DCOE carburetors and used wet sump lubrication.<\/p>\n<p>The wheelbase of 94.5 inches remained unchanged, but the GTC\/4 offered several upgrades, including standard power steering and a larger luggage area. The gearbox was mounted to the engine, unlike the Daytona&#8217;s rear transaxle. The independent suspension had coil springs, unequal-length control arms, and a hydraulic self-leveling system.<\/p>\n<p>Designed by Pininfarina, the GTC\/4 featured a low hood with retractable headlights and a stylish Kamm tail with classic Ferrari tail lights. Inside, the redesigned cabin included comfortable seating and optional leather upholstery.
