The Lamborghini Hurac\u00e1n Sterrato<\/a> and Porsche 911 GT3 RS recently went head-to-head in a series of drag races organized by the folks from carwow<\/a>. These two high-performance machines are completely different from each other as the Porsche is designed for the track while the Lambo is meant for off-roading.<\/p>\n

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS<\/a> is powered by a 4.0L naturally aspirated flat-six engine, delivering 525 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque to the rear wheels through a seven-speed PDK automatic gearbox and weighs 1,450 kilograms.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the Lamborghini Hurac\u00e1n Sterrato boasts a 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 engine that produces 610 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. It features all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, weighing slightly more at 1,470 kilograms.<\/p>\n

During the race, the Sterrato completed the distance in 10.9 seconds, outperforming the Porsche, which crossed the line in 11.2 seconds. The Lamborghini\u2019s all-wheel-drive system gave it an edge in traction, allowing it to launch more effectively and minimize wheelspin. Despite the Porsche\u2019s lighter weight and rapid PDK gearbox, it couldn\u2019t quite match the raw power and grip of the Sterrato.<\/p>\n

From a rolling start at 50 mph with both cars in normal drive modes, the Lamborghini\u2019s extra power made a significant difference. Although the Porsche\u2019s gearbox responded quicker, the Hurac\u00e1n\u2019s additional horsepower allowed it to pull ahead and maintain its lead. Both cars started in third gear in a second rolling race to eliminate the kick-down factor. Without needing gear changes, the Lamborghini further widened the gap, demonstrating its superior mid-range power.<\/p>\n
