Now, things are a little more hazy when it comes to determining how this news carries over to the upcoming bigger-brother 992.2 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/car-profile-porsche-gt3-rs\/\">GT3 RS<\/a>, but all current signs point to the latter remaining fully-ICE as well. So, the upcoming GT3 might not be the last traditionally-powered production GT car <em>period<\/em>, but it&#8217;s looking like that&#8217;s the case for the GT3 nameplate specifically. We already know that the 992-gen will spectacularly conclude with the introduction of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/next-porsche-911-gt2-rs-will-be-a-mild-hybrid\/\">hybrid-powered GT2 RS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also understood that deliveries for the 992.2 GT3 and GT3 Touring\u2014which are now live on the delightfully addictive <a href=\"https:\/\/configurator.porsche.com\/en-US\/model-start\/911\">Porsche Configurator<\/a>\u2014will first be prioritized for EU customers, with most North American customers receiving their allocations on the second-leg on this final and era-defining production run.\u00a0 Beyond the 992.2 GT3, what does the future hold? Well, hybrid power is the obvious and most likely scenario, with a powerplant shared across existing Audi and Porsche platforms\u2014via the current Q5 and Panamera\u2014poised to become part of the blueprint for future 911 models. Of course, there&#8217;s already the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/chris-harris-deep-dive-on-the-992-2-porsche-911-gts-video\/\">992.2 Porsche 911 GTS that comes equipped with T-Hybrid technology<\/a>, as a working proof of concept. But first, you&#8217;ll need to get over the fact that the latest models now start at an MSRP of $222,500 USD\u2014a hefty 17% price increase over the 2024 versions. Yikes!<\/p>\n<h2>Cayman &amp; Boxster In-EV-itability<\/h2>\n<p>The Cayman and Boxster EV have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/porsche-officially-confirms-end-of-the-gas-powered-cayman-boxster\/\">a long time coming<\/a>, and have since been delayed due to the widespread supply-chain issues affecting crucial electrical components such as batteries. But make no mistake\u2014they&#8217;re indeed coming. Insiders have told us that this blip could extend the final 718 production run by a few more months (into late 2025), presenting a small window of opportunity to those who would&#8217;ve otherwise missed the swan song performance in its entirety. Under the extreme conditions afforded by a location 150 km north of the Arctic Circle, the car was able to complete 132 laps over the course of 46 minutes on an frigid and decidedly slippery skid pad. It&#8217;s the fourth time Porsche\u2014and the Porsche Taycan specifically\u2014have set a new record.
