Lamborghini continued its tradition of naming models after fighting bulls with the Gallardo<\/a> in 2003, which featured a V10 engine and was positioned below the V12-powered Murcielago. The Gallardo proved highly successful, selling over 14,000 units in the following decade.<\/p>\n

At the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini unveiled the Gallardo LP560-4<\/a>, a more advanced version featuring a new, uneven-firing 5.2-liter V10 with direct fuel injection, delivering 552 horsepower. The revised E-gear system offered a quicker Corsa mode, improving shift times by 40% and reducing traction control intervention. A launch control system called ‘Thrust Mode’ was also introduced. Weighing 20 kg less than its predecessor, the LP560-4 accelerated from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds and reached a top speed of 202 mph.<\/p>\n

In March 2010, Lamborghini introduced the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, a lighter and more powerful variant of the LP560-4. Extensive carbon fiber use reduced the car\u2019s weight to 2,954 lbs, making it the lightest Lamborghini in production.
