McLaren\u2019s entry into the hybrid hypercar market came with the P1<\/a>, a limited-run plug-in hybrid coup\u00e9 revealed in 2012 at the Paris Motor Show. It features a hybrid powertrain that combines a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 with a McLaren E-Motor located on the rear axle, delivering a total output of 903 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. The performance figures were remarkable: 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, a top speed of 217 mph, and a standing mile completed in 18.2 seconds.<\/p>\n

While the P1 has long enjoyed its place in the pantheon of performance legends alongside the Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder as part of the “Holy Trinity”, there’s a growing belief that the 765LT<\/a> might just be quicker in the real world. Introduced in March 2020, the McLaren 765LT (short for 765 Long Tail) continued McLaren’s iconic “Long Tail” design, echoing the aerodynamic styling of the F1 GTR. Based on the McLaren 720S<\/a>, this track-focused coupe featured a carbon-fiber Monocage II chassis, aluminum subframe, and refined aerodynamics. Its upgraded 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8\u2014borrowed and enhanced from the Senna<\/a>\u2014produced 755 hp.<\/p>\n
