The SP3 is the latest addition to Ferrari&#8217;s Icona series, a lineup that pays homage to the brand&#8217;s most legendary models.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Daytona SP3&#8217;s design is inspired by a trio of Ferrari racing cars that participated in the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/1967-24-hours-of-daytona-race-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">1967 24 Hours of Daytona<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u2014namely the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/?s=330+p3%2F4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">330P3\/4, 330P4<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, and\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/?s=412P\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">412P.<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Not only was an outright Ferrari victory achieved here\u2014with the cars managing an already notable 1-2-3 finish\u2014but it also served as the ultimate retort for what had transpired at the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/1966-le-mans-winning-ford-gt40-sold\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">1966 24 Hours of Le Mans<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, where fierce rival Ford Motor Company, had achieved the same result with 3 of their\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/ford-gt40-race-winners-2016-pebble-beach-concours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">GT40 race cars<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> just a year before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It also comes equipped with the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/best-ferrari-engines-ever-made\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">most potent (purely combustion) engine<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the company has ever made. Thankfully, Ferrari understands this as well as anyone else, and they&#8217;ve only gone and done just that by mid-mounting the spectacular\u00a06.5L naturally-aspirated V12 engine\u00a0from the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2022-ferrari-812-competizione-competizione-a-an-in-depth-look\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">812 Competizione<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> but now tuned to deliver 829 horsepower. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The SP3 featured in the video is owned by David Lee, a<\/span> <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">well-known Los Angeles businessman and Ferrari collector extraordinaire. This example is finished in green with golden details and is one of only 30 SP3s offered with a complete exposed carbon package\u2014a rare option offered only to select clients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jay Leno was able to test drive the SP3 and also discussed the possibility of a next model in the lineup, the SP4, with David Lee.
