What happens when two of Koenigsegg\u2019s most extreme creations\u2014the Regera and the Agera RS\u2014line up for a quarter-mile showdown? Carwow<\/a> set out to answer that question with a full drag race, rolling starts, and even a brake test to settle the score once and for all.<\/p>\n

The Regera<\/a> is Koenigsegg\u2019s hybrid powerhouse, pairing a 5.0L twin-turbo V8 (running on E85 fuel) with three electric motors. It produces a combined 1,500 hp and 2,000 Nm of torque, all sent to the rear wheels via a single-speed direct drive system. It weighs 1,590 kg and sits on Michelin Cup 2 tires. In contrast, the Agera RS<\/a> uses the same V8 engine but ditches electric assistance. It makes 1,360 hp and 1,570 Nm through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with launch control and tips the scales at just 1,395 kg.<\/p>\n

In the drag race, the Regera edged out the Agera RS with a 10.3-second quarter-mile pass, just a tenth faster than the Agera\u2019s 10.4 seconds.\u00a0 Rolling races further revealed the difference in power delivery. From a 10 mph start, the Regera surged ahead thanks to instant electric torque. From 80 km\/h in second gear, the Agera RS\u2019s boost advantage gave it a brief lead, but both cars stayed neck-and-neck through the run. In the braking test, the lighter Agera RS stopped in a shorter distance from 100 mph, clinching the final win.<\/p>\n
