Setting lap and speed records is nothing new for Koenigsegg, the Swedish hypercar maker renowned for dominating almost every category it competes in. The Sadair\u2019s Spear adds another achievement to that legacy\u2014this time on California soil.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/koenigsegg-jesko\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jesko<\/a>, the Sadair\u2019s Spear is Koenigsegg\u2019s most extreme track-focused machine yet\u2014and it\u2019s still road-legal. Lighter, more powerful, and aerodynamically optimized, it pushes the limits of chassis tuning, tires, and downforce. Limited to just 30 units, all of which are already sold, it\u2019s named after the racehorse ridden by Christian von Koenigsegg\u2019s father in his final race in 1976.<\/p>\n<p>The car features larger bonnet vents, wider louvres over the front wheels, a dramatically enlarged front splitter, and a massive active twin-blade rear wing paired with low-drag Jesko Absolut rear bodywork. Power comes from Koenigsegg\u2019s 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, producing 1,300 hp on 95-octane fuel and 1,625 hp on E85, paired with a flywheel-free Light Speed Transmission that shifts in just 0.2 seconds and revs to 8,500 rpm.<\/p>\n<p>Test driver Markus Lundh put the Sadair\u2019s Spear through its paces, setting a record lap of 1\u201924\u201d16 around the 3,602-meter track, beating the previous Czinger 21C record of 1\u201924\u201d75.
