Koenigsegg has raised the bar yet again. On November 4, 2025, the Swedish hypercar manufacturer set a new benchmark at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where the Sadair\u2019s Spear established a new lap record for a homologated production car.<\/p>\n

The achievement is impressive on its own \u2014 but the conditions make it extraordinary. The track was enforcing its stringent 90 dB noise limit, forcing Koenigsegg to equip the Sadair\u2019s Spear with an additional, unusually heavy muffler mounted behind the car. Despite the increased weight and compromised aerodynamics, factory test driver Markus Lundh delivered a stunning 1:24.16 lap, a time independently verified by Racelogic.<\/p>\n

With very limited on-track preparation, the result underscores the potency of Koenigsegg\u2019s latest flagship and showcases the brand\u2019s confidence in its own engineering. Even burdened with the \u201cpendulum effect\u201d of the auxiliary muffler, the Sadair\u2019s Spear demonstrated performance levels typically reserved for fully stripped-out track specials.<\/p>\n

Koenigsegg founder and CEO Christian von Koenigsegg praised both the car and the team behind it: “We knew that the Sadair\u2019s Spear had the potential to beat the lap record. To achieve this feat with the added muffler behind the car shows the potential for even greater performance on a less noise-restricted day.
