Sport Auto<\/a> test driver Christian Gebhardt laps the Hockenheim GP circuit in the 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S (992.2)<\/a>, recording a 1:47.40 on Pirelli P Zero R tires. The updated Turbo S uses a heavily revised 3.6-liter flat-six paired with hybrid-assisted turbocharging, producing about 700 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.<\/p>\n

Its electrically assisted turbos spool instantly, eliminating lag and delivering sharp throttle response and continuous acceleration. The small high-voltage battery doesn\u2019t enable electric driving but supports the turbos and fills torque gaps for smooth, immediate power delivery. Launch control enables 0\u201360 mph in the mid-2-second range.<\/p>\n

Compared to the Carrera GTS, which uses a milder hybrid setup and focuses on balance, the Turbo S emphasizes maximum acceleration and high-speed stability. Features like torque-vectoring all-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering, and active suspension improve traction and agility, making the car feel more precise than its performance suggests.<\/p>\n
