The modern hypercar world is crowded with outrageous horsepower claims and exotic branding, but the Czinger Vehicles<\/span><\/span> 21C stands apart for one reason: nearly everything beneath its carbon-fiber skin was engineered from scratch in California. In a revealing episode of Jay Leno’s Garage<\/a>, Jay Leno<\/span><\/span> joins founder and CEO Lukas Czinger<\/span><\/span> to explore what may be the most technologically ambitious American supercar ever produced.<\/p>\n

At the center of the 21C<\/a> is a bespoke 2.88-liter twin-turbocharged V8 developed entirely in-house, a rarity in today\u2019s boutique performance-car market. Producing up to 850 horsepower in certain configurations while revving to an astonishing 11,000 RPM, the compact engine forms part of a hybrid drivetrain generating a combined 1,250 horsepower.<\/p>\n

Unlike many low-volume supercars that rely on outsourced powertrains, Czinger engineered its own emissions-compliant engine capable of passing California CARB certification, an achievement Leno repeatedly praises as one of the hardest hurdles in the automotive industry.<\/p>\n

Equally groundbreaking is the company\u2019s Divergent manufacturing process. Using laser-fused aluminum, titanium, and steel powders, Czinger creates structurally optimized 3D-printed chassis components with material placed only where necessary. The result is a lightweight yet incredibly rigid structure capable of supporting over 5,500 pounds of downforce at 200 mph.<\/p>\n
