Since then, Monterey has been present at some of the most significant moments in Lamborghini’s modern history, with the event becoming a regular stage for the company’s most important unveilings.<\/p>\n
Over the past decade in particular, Monterey Car Week has established itself as a defining fixture on Lamborghini’s calendar, consistently hosting at least one significant world premiere. The list includes some of the most memorable Lamborghinis of the modern era, from the radical Concept S and Aventador SVJ to the Centenario Roadster, Countach LPI 800-4, Urus Performante, Lanzador, Temerario and Fenomeno.<\/p>\n
From naturally aspirated V12 legends and high-performance Super SUVs to hybrid super sports cars and futuristic concepts, Lamborghini’s Monterey premieres provide a fascinating snapshot of the brand’s evolution while preserving its core values of dramatic design, technological innovation and unmistakable driving emotion.<\/p>\n “Monterey Car Week holds a special place in Lamborghini’s history,”<\/em> said Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “Over the years, it has become the ideal setting to unveil some of our most significant innovations, exclusive limited-series models and visionary concepts.”<\/em><\/p>\n Winkelmann also highlighted the importance of the American market to Lamborghini.<\/p>\n “The United States is Lamborghini’s largest global market, and California alone would rank among Lamborghini’s top five markets worldwide,”<\/em> he added. “Monterey Car Week gives us the opportunity to engage directly with one of the world’s most passionate and knowledgeable automotive communities while strengthening our relationship with collectors and customers who have played a fundamental role in Lamborghini’s growth.”<\/em><\/p>\n And the tradition continues in 2026.<\/p>\n For this year’s Monterey Car Week, Lamborghini is preparing another major double premiere. The headline attraction will be the world debut of the first derivative of the Revuelto, representing a new evolution of Lamborghini’s V12 HPEV super sports car.<\/p>\n Lamborghini will also present the Revuelto Miura 60\u00b0 Homage, a special series limited to just 99 examples. Created through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam personalization program in collaboration with Centro Stile, the car celebrates six decades of the Miura, widely regarded as the world’s first super sports car.<\/p>\n Together, the two premieres continue a tradition that has made Monterey Car Week one of the most important chapters in Lamborghini’s global calendar.<\/p>\n The story began with the Diablo SV Monterey Edition, one of the rarest special versions of Lamborghini’s iconic V12 supercar.<\/p>\n Created specifically for Monterey Car Week, the special edition combined the raw character of the Diablo SV with distinctive styling details designed to appeal to American collectors. Production was limited to just 20 examples, immediately giving the Monterey Edition considerable rarity.<\/p>\n Seven years later, Lamborghini returned to Monterey with one of its most radical concepts ever created.<\/p>\n The Concept S was unveiled in 2005 as a dramatic interpretation of the Gallardo platform. Instead of a conventional windshield, the one-off concept featured two separate cockpit areas divided by a central bulkhead, creating an appearance reminiscent of open-top racing cars from the 1950s.<\/p>\n Underneath its extraordinary bodywork was a naturally aspirated V10 producing approximately 500 horsepower. The Concept S would ultimately become one of Lamborghini’s most recognizable one-off creations.<\/p>\n A decade later, Monterey hosted the debut of the Aventador LP 750-4 SV Roadster.<\/p>\n Combining the Superveloce philosophy with open-air driving, the Roadster featured Lamborghini’s naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 producing 750 horsepower, along with a lightweight construction and extensively revised aerodynamics. Production was limited to 500 examples, making it one of the most desirable open-top Aventador variants.<\/p>\n Lamborghini returned to Monterey in 2016 with another major limited-production model: the Centenario Roadster.<\/p>\n Created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ferruccio Lamborghini’s birth, the Centenario combined a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 producing 770 horsepower with advanced technologies including rear-wheel steering, active aerodynamics and extensive carbon-fiber construction.<\/p>\n Only 20 examples were produced, and all had already been sold before the car made its official debut.<\/p>\n In 2018, Lamborghini brought its most extreme Aventador derivative to Monterey.<\/p>\n The Aventador SVJ featured a 770-hp naturally aspirated V12, all-wheel drive and Lamborghini’s Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) active-aerodynamics system. Its credentials had already been demonstrated at the N\u00fcrburgring Nordschleife, where the SVJ established a production-car lap record with a time of 6:44.97.<\/p>\n Alongside the standard SVJ, Lamborghini also introduced the highly exclusive SVJ 63, created as a tribute to the company’s founding year.<\/p>\n The following year, Monterey once again became the setting for another Aventador milestone with the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster.<\/p>\n Limited to an exclusive production run, the open-top model combined the SVJ’s 770-hp V12, all-wheel drive and active aerodynamics with extensive personalization. Special color combinations, exposed carbon-fiber components and bespoke finishes helped distinguish the SVJ 63 Roadster from the standard SVJ Roadster, making it an especially sought-after collector’s car.<\/p>\n Few Lamborghini names carry the same emotional weight as Countach, making its return in 2021 particularly significant.<\/p>\n The Countach LPI 800-4 reinterpreted the legendary wedge-shaped supercar for the modern era, combining styling cues from the original Countach with hybrid technology derived from the Si\u00e1n. Its naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 was paired with a 48-volt electric motor to produce a combined 814 horsepower.
